The Last Mon Standing

I am going to attend a competition on October 24-26. It is about nerdy stuff, and I am quite nervous. the last time I attendedd such a competition was way back in high school. I was at the Central Luzon State University for two days and the experience was… was not that… well it was actually a Quiz bee and our group landed 6th among the 15 schools and we didn’t get any award.

The competetion that I’ll be attending is not a quiz bee but I daresay it’ll be tough, and I won’t tell you the details until I get a very positive result from it. Just pray for me… please.

This is really weird since my favorite artists are coldplay (the scietist), travis(sing), and franz ferdinand(walk away)… yeah… I also felt the same feeling with Kylie Minouge’s (sorry if i misspelled her name) songs.. especially the song with a line… "it’s in your eyes"…

Last Saturday was our last day of Duties for the Sem, and 2 of my classmates landed themselves to another Incidental Reports.

Miss K, was found Saturday morning sleeping insside the conference hall. Unfortunately the whole morning shift went on drinking spree last Friuday night in Olongapo or somewhere, and she got so wasted and she was afraid that she might not make it to attend her duty the next day. She she sneaked inside the hospital and slept there.

Mr. N, was caught guessing the patient’s vital signs. According to his patient’s relative, he didn’t even show inside the room. he is in real trouble, I think since he recorded the bogus findings in his patient’s chart (falsification of public document).

On the otherhand, the night shifts, our group, had a really great time last saturday night. August, after doing some really hilarious dirty dancing stuff at our clinical instructor, lead the prayer. and his prayer was like this…

Man, it was so funny… we were like giggling the whole time while we were saying Our Father.

Two of my classmates love my butt. I have my night duty (3-11 PM) last Thursday in a hospital near Pampanga and Olongapo. While walking to the hospital after we had our dinner, I was surprised when someone pinched my ass. I turned around and saw Richelle giggling. I asked if it was her and she nodded.

We laughed and I said jokingly, "I never know you’ve been crushing on my ass, huh."

She defensively said no, then giggled back.

Yesterday, I had my make up duty for my excused absence. My sked was 7 AM to 11Pm. While I was inside the hospital’s conference room, where we put our things, Resa sneaked behind me then grabbed my ass, she again did it when we went out to have our lunch, then again when the 2nd batch came. She did it about 7 or 8 times yesterday.

This got me really uncomfortable, you know. It is not really nice when people just grab then carress your ass while you’re taking the Blood Pressure of your patient, especially when you dont know when it exactly is going to happen.

I asked her why she kept on doing it, and she said that she just loved grabbing people’s back. I didn’t believe her, so I argued how come she never touched August’s, Neil’s, Lorenzo’s or Alex’s ass who were with us the whole day. She just smiled, the evil kind of smile someone does after doing a wicked thing, which kept on reminding me of those smile made by super dee duper villains after defeating the super heroes, and this made me conclude that… she certainly is turned on by my ass.

And I went singing…

I have always been interested in History. I remeber when I was in high school I passed a research paper about the Aztecs. For me, they are one of the most awesome peple who live on the planet. I was greatly amazed by their arts and rituals and mythology especially the offerings of people and the said cannibalism during these acts.

In the same way I was impressed by Hernan Cortes who pretended to be their God and slaughtered them without making even a single outroar from the Aztec people. (I really think that Magellan and Cortes are the noblest navigator, they were not selfish etc…)

Mexican archeologists make major Aztec find

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexican archeologists have made the most significant Aztec find in decades, unearthing a 15th century altar and a huge stone slab at a ruined temple in the throbbing heart of Mexico City.

The works were uncovered last weekend at the Aztec empire’s main Templo Mayor temple, near the central Zocalo square, which was used for worship and human sacrifice.

It was the most meaningful find since electricity workers stumbled upon an eight-tonne carving of an Aztec goddess at the same site in 1978.

"It is a very important discovery, the biggest we have made in 28 years. It will allow us to find out a lot more," Mexico City’s mayor, Alejandro Encinas, said on Wednesday.

The altar has a frieze of the rain god Tlaloc and an agricultural deity.

Archeologists are still unearthing the 11-foot (3.5-m) monolith, which they think might be part of an entrance to an underground chamber.

At the site, excavators with pick axes and shovels hacked at the earth above the monolith while groups of archeologists, government officials and reporters waited around the deep pit.

"The importance of the monolith is what we are going to discover…It’s likely that it is part of a chamber, of some offering. We won’t know until we get close. First we have to get the stone out," said Alberto Diaz, a member of the archeological team.

The Aztecs, a warlike and deeply religious people who built monumental works, ruled an empire stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean and encompassing much of modern-day central Mexico.

Their often bloody reign began in the 14th century and ended when they were subjugated in 1521 by the Spanish led by Hernan Cortes.

TALE OF THREE CITIES

The Aztecs began building the Templo Mayor pyramid-shaped temple in 1375. Its ruins are now only yards from downtown’s choking traffic.

The temple was a center of human sacrifice. At one ceremony in 1487, historians say tens of thousands of victims were sacrificed, their hearts ripped out.

Spanish conquistadors destroyed the temple when they razed the city and used its stones to help build their own capital.

Now the site is surrounded by Spanish colonial buildings like Mexico City’s cathedral and the historical National Palace as well as convenience stores and fast-food restaurants.

"Really, when we begin to excavate, we realize that we are in three different times, three different cities: You see the current city, the colonial city and the pre-Hispanic city," said Diaz.

Expectations for the 7th Installment

This are the things that might happen next based on the fifth and sixth book and JK Rowling’s Interviews.

There will be a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher;

                It has been a tradition for the HP books to introduce a new teacher for the post since not one ever lasted for more than a year. It was said in the wizarding world that the job was jinxed. Among the professors who took the position were Quirrel, who died in the first year, Lockhart, who had a terrible amnesia, Lupin, who was sacked, Moody, who was imprisoned in a briefcase for the whole school year, Umbridge, who was ran over by a herd of centaurs, and Snape, who flew away after killing the headmaster.

                Rumors say that Fleur Delacour might be the next professor if ever Hogwarts reopens.

Hogwarts MIGHT not be the setting of the untitled book;

                The seventh book might see more outside sceneries this time since Harry swore in the 6th book that he’ll look for the Dark Lord and avenge his parents’ death.

                It was clearly said in the last Chapter of the 6th book that he’s “not coming back even if it (the school) reopens.”

Two of the three main characters will die;

                Sadly, JK Rowling confirmed the death of 2 among Harry, Hermione, and Ron. Whoever it is, she won’t tell though.

Some Puzzling Questions that are to be Answered by the Last Book

                So what are the queries that we’ve been dying to be answered? These are some of the most popular questions that have been running through the heads of Harry Potter Maniacs.

Will “the CHOSEN ONE” survive the war against “the Dark Lord”?

                “The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches… and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives….” And so the prophecy goes.

                JK Rowling wrote in her website that “myself and Madame Trelawney worded the prophecy very carefully” thus making the ending more unpredictable. However, she was also quoted in a TV interview that she would be willing to kill Harry in the end to stop other writers from writing a sequel. So now the questions remain, who will kill who? Who will triumph in the end? Will the “boy-who-lived” conquer the Dark Lord?

Will Sirius Black return from the dead?

                “Harry saw the look of mingled fear and surprise on his Godfather’s wasted once-handsome face as he fell through the ancient doorway and disappeared beyond the veil…” after Bellatrix Lestrange shot a killing curse on him.

                But Sirius’ body was not found.

                If Luna Lovegood was correct when she said that, “In that room with the archway. They (the souls of the departed)   were just lurking out of sight. That’s all. You heard them,” then this means that Sirius’ body was thrown with his soul in the spirit realm. Can this mean that Sirius’ body was not separated in the process? If so does this mean he’s still….

Is Snape really Eeee-vil?

                Severus’ allegiance still mystifies a lot of people even if he did kill Dumbledore in the 6th book. Maybe this is because of the author’s amazing skill in turning her stories upside down. Take for example Sirius Black who was described as the number one fanatical follower of He-who-must-not-be-named while Peter Pettigrew was a good loyal friend and yet in the end it turned out that it was the other way around.

                Could this be the case with Snape? Did Dumbledore’s trust with Snape have any basis? Did he actually plead Snape to kill him because he knew everything about the spell of unbreakable vow that Severus made with Narcissa Malfoy? Or was Snape just jesting all along?

               Who can be certain when we all know that Snape is very proficient in legilemency (reading other people’s mind) and occlumency (shutting the psyche from intruders who uses legilemency)?

                Hmmm… curious… curious….

Who is R.A.B.?

                RAB is definitely the number one in the list of the Harry Potter mysteries.

To the Dark Lord

                Who is indeed RAB…? Some say it was Dumbledore’s brother. While some, like me, reckon it was Regulus A. Black, Sirius’ brother, who was killed by none other than You-Know-Who, himself because of an uncertain reason.

*rolls eyes* You know, I figured THAT out months ago….Regulus Black IS R.A.B.!!!! Remember, he had wanted to leave the Death Eaters, and he was killed for it… and also remember a heavy locket was found in the Black house that couldn’t be opened … could this be the missing Horcrux from the cave?
