Bongga

March 4, 2007

I’ve been watching Pinoy Big Brother since the start of season 1. Though I enjoy more watching the wacky Mariel Rodriguez during the PBB UpLate (at 1 or 1:30 AM).

Anyway, I decided not to make any blog entry about the happenings inside the house since you’ll be able to watch them or read the Pinoy Big Brother Site.

What really caught my interest in watching the overly publicized show other than the concept, which was borrowed from a George Orwell novel, is the housemate’s personalities. Last season I was really thrilled by the bitchy role of Chx Alcala and gooffy, exhibitionistic character of Jason.

So how about the new housemates? What’s up with them?

Ezekiel Joshua Dimaguila, Zeke, from Australia. He’s more relaxed compare to the other housemates. He seems to be the type of happy-go-lucky guy. And according to what I have read in the website, he dropped college thrice. His personality clashes with that of Wendy. He didn’t seem to care much what the other housemates will think. Unlike sam Milby last season, who doesn’t want to argue, he’s very game with arguments. According to wendy he’s “mayabang”.

Wendy Valdez is a runner up in Binibining Pilipinas. Although a model, she grew up in poverty in Navotas. She has the strongest personality so far. She wants everything to be done her way. So how’s “her way”? Everything should be done PERFECTLY, that’s her way. She’s irritated by Ezekiel’s carelessness. She’s the most aggressive in completing the tasks but at the same time the most impatient. And I would like to say that I am going to vote for this girl once she’s nominated, and I think that would not take any longer since Gee Ann already showed some dislikings towards her attitude.

Ronel Rapiz of Iloilo seems the funniest so far inside the house. But because of his namby pamby moves and expressions like “bonga” and “perfect”, viewers suspect that he may do a Rustom Padilla revelation inside the house. But there is a contradictory to this suspicion, he confessed to Big Brother and to Zeke one time they are cleaning the windows that he likes Wendy.

Saicy Aguila from iloilo City also (actually i thought she’s from Bacolod but according to the website she’s an Ilongga). She’s an Education graduate major in PE but unfortunately she didn’t pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers. So she decided to teach as a Dance Innstructor in a ballroom class. She’s pretty silent most of the time. She a bit funny especially when she tries to interpret Tagalog words to German using an English German Dictionary for Micky. Unfortunately, most of the time she didn’t know how to translate Tagalog words to English as well. According to her she fell in love with a gay colleague, will she fell in love with Nel then? hmmm… I dont think so, since she’s swooning over the new housemate, Robert, already.

Gianina Maria Abraham, Gee Ann for short, from Quezon City. During the opening night I was really shocked when she was described as a mother of 8 children at the age of 21. But actually these “babies” were her dolls and stuffed toys that she has accumulated through the years. She confessed of celebrating each doll’s birthday with a real party. I think she’s the newest version of Say Alonzo inside the house. She’s coño and cries a lot. It looks like she has already captivated Zeke’s and Micky’s heart though. When Nel asked Micky who he thinks is the most gorgeous he answered her. While Micky always give a helping hand whenever she’s crying. A true Damsel in Distress.

Michael Richard Perez, Micky, from Switzerland. He grew up with his mother when his parents got divorced. He was conspired by Big Brother in fooling the housemate that he cannot speak Tagalog and english. armed only with the English-German Dictionary, his housemate tried their best to communicate with him. It was really funny especially when he finally revealed himself to the housemates. He is among my early favorites (he and wendy actually).

There was another housemate who entered the house last night and 7 more are bound to come the following nights. I will just give my follow up “reviews” of their personalities after two weeks when they have finally settled in and found their respective niches inside.
